CHRIS REYNOLDS ’14 Fulbright Scholar, Humanitarian,
SLeader and Salesian Gentleman
alesianum makes it a priority to develop relations with those we serve. And it is by truly getting close to those we serve that we best position graduates to go forth to make the world a better place. For Chris Reynolds ’14, the tenets that a Salesian
Gentleman is called to embrace — exhibiting humility before God, gentleness toward one’s neighbor, patience with yourself, compassion for the poor, and taking a tenacious approach to overcoming challenges — have become his personal compass at a very young age.
A member of Salesianum’s Class of 2014 and a Boston College (BC) Gabelli Presidential Scholar and 2018 graduate, Chris has been navigating a path of personal and professional excellence via his calling to serve others. This calling has been informed by both the Salesian and Jesuit principles of educating the whole person. Along this journey, he has been accruing impressive accolades that include being awarded Boston College’s highest honor, the Finnegan Award. This award recognizes a graduating senior who best exhibits BC’s motto, “Ever to Excel.” Chris was also honored as the recipient of
a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, which supports a year of post- baccalaureate studies, typically in research or education.
Chris is currently residing in Colombia, as a result of his Fulbright grant. We are most grateful for the time and insight he enthusiastically shared with us for the following in-depth Alumni Spotlight interview.
