PUTNAM LOWER HUDSON VALLEY
Putnam
C ongratulations and welcome to our beautiful Hudson Valley community!
Putnam, as our motto attests, is “Where the Country Begins,” but it certainly doesn’t end there.
Boscobel House in Garrison
We’re proud of our top-rated school districts, terrific public libraries and a sound, fiscally responsible
county government. Ranked lowest in unemployment in the Hudson Valley, Putnam is the safest and one of the healthiest counties in New York State. We also boast historic and recreational attractions, including the new Tilly Foster Educational Institute, Boscobel House and Gardens, Fahnestock State Park, Thunder Ridge Ski Area, numerous Rail-to-Trail pathways and bikeways, and an abundance of streams, ponds, lakes, and reservoirs.
Putnam County declared 2017 the “Year of the Millennial.” Our focus is to entice this generation of young adults to remain in the county through real estate opportunities, leisure and travel, mobility and technology. We also have an active and robust Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, which works closely with our Economic Development Corporation in promoting and supporting long-term business growth.
To assist in getting you acclimated to the “neighborhood,” download our app, Putnam County Cares, and visit the county website at www.putnamcountyny.com, where the latest news on our seniors, veterans, and various departments and organizations are updated regularly.
I wish you many years of happiness in your new home. Please don’t hesitate to call my office for assistance anytime at 845-808-1001.
Sincerely,
MaryEllen Odell
