Zebley says first-time buyers set the pace.
“By not being pushy, you can gain their confidence,” he says. The details matter.
Zebley was recently working with a first-time homeowner whose builder said they were going to select his carpet’s color. The buyer didn’t say anything, but Zebley took him aside.
“I said, ‘Do you really want to go with a builder that won’t let you pick your own carpet color?’” he asked. No, not really, he didn’t.
“It’s a matter of building that trust,” Zebley says. Meanwhile, as he passes along some worldly wisdom, he gets rejuvenated by their positive attitude.
“First-time homebuyers are in love with the whole process and working with them recharges your batteries.”
