Each REALTOR® agrees to abide by a Code of Ethics, first adopted in 1913. The Code spells out REALTORS’® responsibilities to clients, customers, other REALTORS®, and

Ethics training every two years to retain their membership.
It’s that commitment to going above and beyond the minimum legal requirements that separate a REALTOR® from a licensed real estate agent.

More Than a Contract
Though they are proficient in the legal and regulatory process of buying a home, a REALTOR® does so much more.

• NAR this spring partnered with more than 200 REALTOR® associations to show their collective support for a new rule allowing small businesses to group together to buy health insurance. NAR’s advocacy and supportwillguidelocalassociationsand their members through the intricacies of the policy.
• The DAR successfully lobbied the General Assembly to exempt first-time homebuyers from an increase in the real estate transfer tax.
• Delaware’s three local associations work with their governments throughout the year to protect the rights of property owners in their counties on such issues as property taxes.
These local, state, and national associations have common goals: support REALTORS® and advocate for policies that benefit their clients and property owners nationwide.
