The Black Bear Tavern and Restaurant (blackbeartavern.com) in McHenry is a long- time favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. Check out the website for daily specials. After dinner, stop at nearby Mountain State Brewing Co. (mountainstatebrewing.com) for a drink.
FOR FOOD LOVERS
Brenda's Pizzeria (brendaspizzeria.com) has a scenic view of the lakefront and offers New-York style pizza with homespun entrée favorites and other options, including seafood, vegetarian fare and gluten-free pasta. The dough for pizzas, calzones and breadsticks is made fresh daily.
Great lake views are also a draw at Dutch’s at Silver Tree (suitesatsilvertree.com/ dutchs-silver-tree), a newly remodeled upscale dining destination featuring fresh seafood, hand-cut steaks and delicious crab cakes. In summer, arrive by boat and relax at the restaurant’s Harbor Bar.
Third Street Diner (facebook.com/ 3rdstreetdiner) offers daily specials that make it a great stop for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner. Popular comfort-food options include homemade meat loaf, corned beef reuben and pork chops.
The Cornucopia Cafe (thecornucopiacafe. com) in Grantsville is known for its stylish but comfortable atmosphere, along with
an extensive menu of breakfast foods, soups and salads, flatbreads, and signature cocktails.
Looking for a romantic night out? The Deer Park Inn (deerparkinn.com) is located in
a gorgeous Victorian mansion and offers French-influenced cuisine, while Pine Lodge Steakhouse (pinelodgesteakhouse.com) won the 2018 Diner’s Choice Award for its fine cuts of beef and plentiful seafood options.
While you’re on vacation, you get to
