FAMILY FUN EVENTS — ALL YEAR ROUND
Every President’s Day weekend, head to
Oakland Winter Fest (oaklandmd.com/ winter-fest.html) for face painting, ice carvings, a bounce house and obstacle course, hot cocoa station and so much more.
For classic summer fun that includes carnival rides, farm shows and craft exhibits, try
the Garrett County Agriculture Fair (garrettcountyfair.org), which takes place in late July or early August.
Garrett County’s favorite Christmas extravaganza is the Festival of Trees (gcfot.org). It takes place on Thanksgiving weekend in November. Proceeds from
this fun, affordable family event benefit the Dove Center, a domestic violence and sexual assault services program.
And of course, you can’t miss our annual
Autumn Glory Festival (visitdeepcreek. com/autumnglory) with its two large

parades, live music, turkey dinners, art exhibits and craft shows! With older kids, make sure to take a fall-foliage driving tour — the dazzling colors are bound to make a few jaws drop.
