adjoining TooHolly that the family purchased years ago. Back then, it was an ungroomed, building-free swath of trees. They decided to manage it with an eye on income that would provide for the preservation and enjoyment of TooHolly.
But the name of that utilitarian tract? It’s Guerry Beam Farm, a memorial to Beam’s son, who was killed in a car accident in 1983. That land, too, is now planted with Longleaf, a variety that’s prized not just for its high quality, but also for its beauty.
