The 12th Man: How You Can Engage in
the Political Process for Forestry in Georgia
The Association’s success is dependent on the active engagement of the collective membership throughout each year. The following roadmap will help you in contributing to the GFA’s advocacy efforts to ensure the long-term vitality of Georgia’s working forests and forest product industries for generations.
Become a Member
As a member of the Association, you are helping to ensure that
your forestry assets
are protected, you are connected with meaningful resources and you are empowered to conserve your heritage for the future. Visit www.gfagrow.org/ membership for more information.
Forestry Day at the Capitol
Attend the GFA Forestry Day at the Capitol event in February 2017 to reconnect with legislators and decision makers.
Capitol Forestry Reports
As a member, you will receive weekly Capitol Forestry Reports via email, which will keep you updated on developments during the legislative session and empower
you with knowledge so you can engage with your elected officials.
ForestPAC
Support ForestPAC, the Association’s Political Action Committee, to show collective support from the forestry community for pro-forestry candidates. ForestPAC allows you to connect directly with elected officials with events throughout the year. Events are already being planned for 2017.
Become Part of the FORT
Members are able to become a part of
our Forest Resource Teams (FORT), a grassroots initiative to help us to connect with political leaders in your area on behalf of forestry.
