T3 Office Building
Hines developed a very similar building to the one that is planned for Midtown. What’s known as the T3 office building (Timber, Technology, Transit) in the city’s North Loop district opened at the end of November 2016. It
is the tallest modern wood building in the country. It
is made of CLT and NLT,

WHAT IS MASS TIMBER? Mass timber is a category of framing styles often using large panelized solid wood construction including cross-laminated timber (CLT), nail-laminated timber (NLT) or glulam panels for floor and wall framing. (source: rethinkwood.com)
WHAT IS CROSS-LAMINATED TIMBER? CLT is a wood panel typically consisting of three, five, or seven layers of dimension lumber oriented at right angles to one another and then glued to form structural panels with excep- tional strength, dimensional stability and rigidity. CLT can be manufactured to customized dimensions and panel sizes vary by manufacturer. Length is usually limited by transportation restrictions. (source: rethinkwood.com)
