How transformation is approached may change from administration to administration and state to state, but the focus remains the same: reducing cost while improving both quality and outcomes for patients.
same: reducing cost while improving both quality and outcomes for patients. This is now commonly referred to
as the “value proposition” or “value equation” in health care.
Delaware has been on its own journey of health care transformation, driven by a continuing rise in health care- related costs. According to the state, 30 percent of its budget is now related to health care costs. The projections are that without change, this percentage will continue to increase and become
unsustainable in the near future. For that reason, some have said the pace of transformation in Delaware has been too slow and must be accelerated.

interesting and conversation-generating.
It is without doubt this is just the tip of the iceberg and there is much more to come. However, I have a hunch that, moving forward, it won’t involve fee schedules!
