for Assisting Port Visitors

T
he Port of Baltimore’s marine terminals are busy places.
On average, 3,000 individuals pass daily through the
gates of the Dundalk and Seagirt facilities alone.
Balancing the need to keep commerce moving
forward while ensuring the safety of the people and
cargo in the Port falls to the Maryland Port Administration (MPA)
Office of Security. Headed by a former Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) special agent, the team has made significant enhancements

Right: MPA Director of Security David Espie noted that the state-of-the-art
emergency operations center was activated during Hurricane Sandy for regular
briefings from the U.S. Coast Guard’s Captain of the Port.
