U.S. Senator Chris Coons
hosted the Operation
Success and Hiring Our
Heroes job fair and
outreach event for service members, veterans
and their families on the Dover campus.
The event is back for the third year a er
much success. Last year, more than 200 people
a ended, six service members were hired on
the spot, and 16 in total as a result of the event
outreach.
A endees were able to meet with federal and
private-sector organizations that have positions
available for veterans, learn how to make the
most of education benefits and a end sessions
on resume writing, online job search and how to
start a small business.
Hiring employers at the event include
AutoZone Inc., ManTech International
Corporation, Lockheed Martin, Capstone
Corporation, Ryder System Inc., Internal Revenue
Service, Gamestop, Christiana Care and JP
Morgan Chase, which had representatives to hire
on the spot.
Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce Foundation, launched
in March 2011 as a nationwide initiative to help
veterans and military spouses find meaningful
employment.
