BRIAN J. GALINAT, MD, MBA, chair of the Christiana Care Health System Department
of Orthopaedic Surgery, was appointed
to the Board of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons at the Society’s annual meeting. He will serve as a member at large. Dr. Galinat specializes in shoulder surgery.
He was team doctor for the Wilmington Blue Rocks from 1993 to 2006 and a team doctor for US Soccer from 1991 to 2005.

The BAYHEALTH CARDIOVASCULAR REHABILITATION PROGRAM has
been certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The certification is valid for three years. Bayhealth’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs have been certified since 2012.
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM
CHRISTIANA HOSPITAL has earned Baby-Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly, USA as part of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative – a global program of the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund. The designation distinguishes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding.
THE WILMINGTON HOSPITAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT earned a Silver Beacon Award from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. This is the third Christiana Care unit to earn the Beacon Award. The award recognizes exceptional critical care through improved patient outcomes and greater satisfaction among patients and nurses.
CHRISTIANA CARE received the Employer of the Year award from the Division on Career Development and Transition, an international organization affiliated with the Council for Exceptional Children that promotes careers and vocations for the disabled. The award was in recognition of Christiana Care’s Project SEARCH, a nine-month job development internship for people ages 18-21 with cognitive disabilities.
NANTICOKE HEALTH SERVICES
Becker’s Hospital Review has named Steven Rose, RN, MN, President and CEO of NANTICOKE HEALTH SERVICES, to its list of “50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know” for the third year in a row. Under Mr. Roe’s leadership the Nanticoke Physician Network has grown from seven to nearly 50 employed physicians and nurse practitioners since 2008, recently opened three urgent care centers, and opened a new 35,000 square foot medical office building which houses 30 physicians and nurse practitioners and their staffs.
