the military medical history of WWI, WWII and the Korean War. The Center personal library including biographical information, bibliographic notes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, 1,000 photographs, and 100 books related to medicine and military medicine. He has done research on Delaware physicians and physician-veterans spanning the 18th Century through the mid-20th Century. This represents a unique resource that
is invaluable for today and for future generations to come. A grant from the Delaware Medical Education Foundation provided for an archivist to identify
and catalogue the collection so it can be easily researched. This Center is a truly invaluable resource for our Society and our State.
Next time you are at MSD, stop in to
see this amazing space near the display cases housing our collection of historical medical equipment. Our Historical Subcommittee will be assuming responsibility for adding to the collection. Dr. Duncan has tasked us to collect military medical information for those after WWII, to include any written information, pictures, or “memorabilia.”
If you have anything that may complement the collection or any applicable medical historical materials, please consider donating them to our Center for preservation.

for meetings with our Board Rooms and Conference Center. Our Conference Center can accommodate up to 200 comfortably in theater style seating, and 100 with tables. It can be split in half and accommodate 80 to 100 comfortably. We have used it for smaller Society dinner meetings, as well as larger attended lectures and CME events. There are teleconferencing capabilities to host a meeting at MSD and connect to remote sites around Delaware. Currently four sites have agreements with us to connect to MSD. Our Board Room easily holds our Executive Board for its monthly meetings and other meetings with invited guests. It, too, has teleconferencing capabilities so we can host our downstate board members as needed. There are two other rooms,
the Kahlon Conference Room that will hold 12-14, and a smaller meeting space, the Pathology Foundation Conference Room. These were made possible through generous donations and are available for smaller groups or our committees to meet. be leased, and don’t forget our IT lab, which was built with space for training. Our lobby is a beautiful area that can host receptions and serve as vendor display space. Next time you are looking for a space for your subspecialty meeting, a
free parking in the visitors’ parking lot at the front of the building, and after 5:30 p.m. the garage is also available for the convenience of your group.
You may remember we had a Capital Campaign to raise $2,000,000. Well, I am excited to report that we almost made our goal. We are only $8,000 short of our goal – so close. An anonymous donor
has challenged us with raising the last few thousand dollars promising to donate $1,000 if we can raise the other $7,000. If you have not given, consider a donation. If you have given, consider contributing just a bit more. It truly is our home now, the permanent brick and mortar space we utilize to keep our organization anchored as it works for you, the individual doctor, and for all of us to support us and our profession. So, come to our very own “Home, Sweet, Home.”
