TIMOTHY J. GARDNER, MD received the American Association for Thoracic Surgery’s Lifetime Achievement Award which recognizes individuals for their significant contributions to the specialty in the areas of patient care, teaching, research, or community service. Dr. Gardner
is Medical Director of Christiana Care’s Center for Heart and Vascular Health and Executive Director of the Value Institute.
SHIRLEY KLEIN, MD, FAAP
is Delaware’s 2015 winner of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Childhood Immunization Champion Award. Dr. Klein recently retired from the Pediatric Practice Program
at the Rocco A. Abessinio Family Wilmington Health Center after 32 years of service with Christiana Care Health System.
NICHOLAS J. PETRELLI, MD received the 2015 Service Award from the Delaware BioScience Association
at an awards gala in April. The award recognizes individuals or organizations who have made significant contributions to improve Delaware’s life-science community. Dr. Petrelli is the Bank of America-Endowed Medical Director of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and Research Institute.
ROBERT L. WITT, MD, FACS was the keynote speaker and a panelist for the Third Congress of European Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ORL- HNS) titled Thyroid Surgical Care 2015: The Impact of Molecular Testing in June. Dr. Witt is the Director
of the Head & Neck Multidisciplinary Clinic at Christiana Care Health System.
