LYNN ROMANO, MD was inducted into the Nanticoke Physicians Hall of Fame as a part of the 11th Annual Nanticoke Health Services Tributes for Healthcare Leadership Dinner in November. The award recognizes and honors physicians who have served their communities with dedication and distinction. Dr. Romano is an Internal Medicine Physician at Mid-Sussex Medical Center in Bridegeville.
ZIYAD WADI, MD has been named Medical Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Nanticoke Health Services. His practice is located in the Nanticoke Health Pavilion in Seaford.
ROBERT L. WITT, MD, FACS served as the Ted and Molly Carr Visiting Professor at the University
of Auckland, New Zealand in November and presented lectures on thyroid and salivary gland surgical topics. Dr. Witt is Director of the Multi-Disciplinary Head and Neck Clinic at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center at Christiana Care Health System.

BEEBE HEALTHCARE’S IT DEPARTMENT was named among the Top 5 Best Hospital IT Departments in Healthcare in 2015 for medium sized organizations by Healthcare IT News.
BEEBE HEALTHCARE’S TUNNELL CANCER CENTER has received recertification from the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative Certification Program. The program provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet nationally recognized standards for quality cancer care.
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM announced it will build a new Women and Children’s Building at Christiana Hospital. The $260 million enhancement project will better integrate services for mothers and babies. It will include a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with private rooms and sleep-in space for families, new and expanded labor and delivery suites, private rooms for families after delivery, an expanded triage area, labor lounge, separate admitting and discharge areas, and a Continuing Care Nursery. Groundbreaking is projected for 2017 with completion expected in 2020.
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM was honored as one of 52 institutions by the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress for achieving meritorious outcomes in surgical patient care. This is the third consecutive year that Christiana Care has been recognized by the organization’s National Surgical Quality Improvement Program.
CHRISTIANA CARE has earned the Health Champion designation from the American Diabetes Association. The newly launched designation recognizes companies and organizations that inspire and encourage organizational well-being and is part of the association’s Wellness Lives Here initiative.
