 JAN LEE, MD was one of the “75 Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT” honored by Health Data Management at its Healthcare IT conference in May. Dr. Lee is the CEO of the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN). Under her leadership the DHIN has grown from Stage 5 to Stage 7 (the highest level) on the Health Information Exchange Maturity Model over the past three years.
Hospital News BAYHEALTH
The Delaware Health Resources Board has approved moving forward with a plan by BAYHEALTH to build a health campus near Milford. Located on a 165-acre piece of land just off Route 1, the project will include a hospital and services to support both inpatient and outpatient care. A ground breaking ceremony is planned for late spring.
Bayhealth has received a community grant from Susan G. Komen Philadelphia to provide services for the early detection and diagnosis, such as screening mammograms and biopsies, of breast cancer.
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM
CHRISTIANA CARE HEALTH SYSTEM was included on this year’s Truven Health Analytics list of 100 Top Hospitals in the US and is the only major teaching hospital in the nation to win the Everest Award in both 2015 and 2016. The award recognizes health systems demonstrating high performance and long-term improvement over five years.
A barcode scanning device that enables Christiana Care employees with disabilities to categorize unused medicines is the winning idea in SouceAmerica’s Design Challenge for high school students. Students from Concord High School partnered with Christiana Care’s Project SEARCH Program to create the device.

The Sturge-Weber Foundation has named NEMOURS/ALFRED I. DUPONT HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN a Center of Excellence for patients living with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome, and port wine birthmarks. As a Center of Excellence, the hospital provides pediatric medical specialists dedicated to state-of- the-art treatment and conducting clinical research studies
and investigations in the understanding of these neurological conditions.
