Every year, an estimated 50,000 Americans are infected with HIV/ AIDS and in 2011 approximately 14,000 people died due to complications of

AIDS. The Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) estimates that more than one million people are now living with HIV in the United States and approximately one out of eight of them do not know they are infected.1,2 Forty- eight percent of all new infections are transmitted by the 21 percent that do not yet know they have HIV, do not perceive themselves as having been at risk, and have not sought testing.3 While there
