RAY A. BLACKWELL, MD was named to a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the Great Rivers Affiliate of the American Heart Association. In the role, he will work to achieve the organization’s mission of improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans and reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent. Dr. Blackwell is a Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeon at Christiana Care Health System.
The fifth edition of The Fifteen Minute Hour: Therapeutic Talk in Primary Care, co-written by JOSEPH LIEBERMAN III, MD, MPH and MARIAN STUART, PhD, has been released. The book provides a strategy to help primary care clinicians
focus an office visit when an underlying psychological issue is the reason behind it and lays out a number of treatment options that can be used during a short patient visit. It is published by Radcliffe Publishing.

BAYHEALTH MILFORD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL’S Bariatric Program has achieved national accreditation distinction from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
BAYHEALTH KENT GENERAL AND MILFORD MEMORIAL HOSPITALS were awarded Planetree Bronze Recognition for meaningful progress in patient-centered care. The recognition follows a lengthy process which included an application, site visits, and focus groups with the Bayhealth staff and community.
