Fun things to do
Q. What are the top five things you like to do when you visit home?
A. A lot of it is food related because I’m a big foodie. The second I get off the plane, I immediately have to go to Capriotti’s. Even though now in Los Angeles they have Capriotti’s here, I still go straight there when I go to Wilmington. It’s
the original. I also love Historic New Castle — I’m from there — so I go to Jessop’s Tavern. And then I like to drive into downtown Wilmington and eat at Deep Blue and any of those seafood restaurants or Toscana and those great, amazing places. And then I love to take my wife to Longwood Gardens — it’s so beautiful up there. The fifth thing that I like to do: Go to World Cafe Live at the Queen, because it’s always got some awesome music and a party atmosphere.

What to wear!
SPRING — As spring flowers bloom, the weather can change quickly. Layer up, and prepare for evening showers in the late spring.
SUMMER — Summer can get hot in the Mid-Atlantic. Plan on shorts if you’ll be outside for long stretches, and bring water.
FALL — As the leaves start to change, temps take a dip — but won’t get too cold until after Thanksgiving. It’s sweater weather, with highs usually in the 60s.
WINTER — Average highs are the upper 40s and lows are below freezing, but wind chill can make it feel colder. Significant snowstorms are infrequent, but can happen.
