A Message from the Incoming President
S ince 1916, the Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS® has been the advocate for buyers, sellers and real estate agents in the Hudson Valley region. We help consumers buy and sell real estate in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland,
Orange and Dutchess counties, as well as in the Bronx and Manhattan.
HGAR... What Is It?
W hat sets HGAR members apart from other real estate professionals is that they are REALTORS®, meaning they are members of the National Association of REALTORS®’ and therefore bound by
its strict Code of Ethics. They are duty-bound to represent you fairly – just the way you would want to be represented.
Today, HGAR represents almost 11,000 REALTORS® in the Lower Hudson Valley and parts of New York City. As the voice of real estate in the Lower Hudson Valley, HGAR is a constant advocate for the rights of homeowners and REALTORS®. The Association continuously lobbies local, state and national lawmakers to protect the interests of homeowners on everything from preserving the mortgage-interest deduction and STAR programs to eliminating unnecessary financial burdens with closing costs. We advocate for keeping taxes low and homes affordable to those looking to live in the Hudson Valley region.
As the 2018 president of HGAR, my goal is for our Association to continue to play a vital role in the livelihood of the Hudson Valley. The region is one of the top places to live, and we will continue to join with local leaders to promote the benefits of working and living here. As REALTORS®, we celebrate the diversity of our residents and appreciate our varied communities. For its part, HGAR will advance technologies and services to assist buyers and sellers and ensure that our mission to be the best is achieved.
As we look to the future, I see HGAR as a vital resource for prospective homeowners in our area. We’ll continue to provide them with a library of community information, a myriad of REALTOR® choices and home choices, and constant legislative advocacy. Whether you’re a potential homeowner of one of our valued members, HGAR is always there, by your side.
