DINING
There’s no shortage of renowned chefs in Westchester, with many being graduates of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Chef Peter Kelly’s acclaimed X2O Xaviars on the Hudson
in Yonkers and Port Chester’s Tarry Lodge, a joint venture of celebrity chefs Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich, are just a couple of examples of the world-class dining the county offers.
At The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges, you’ll bask in world-renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s comfort-food tour de force in rustic yet affluent Pound Ridge.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns, which offers farm-to-table delights at a working farm formerly owned by the Rockefeller estate, was named Best Restaurant in the United States by Eater.
For those seeking something a bit more exotic, Persian, Korean, Turkish and Ethiopian cuisine are just a few of the diverse ethnic dining options available throughout the county.
HISTORY
Graced by unique and historic architecture, the county is home to 16 National Historic Landmark sites and 196 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Historic Hudson Valley, an education non-profit, offers a host of educational and seasonal programs at its landmark sites, including Croton’s Van Cortlandt Manor, Irvington’s Sunnyside Estate, Sleepy Hollow’s Philipsburg Manor and the John Jay Homestead in Katonah.
