REGENERON STORIES
ARIS BARAS, MD, MBA
Vice President, Regeneron Genetics Center Mount Kisco, New York
After I graduated from Duke University School of Medicine, I came to work at Regeneron, at their headquarters in Tarrytown. I not only fell in love with Regeneron and the amazing opportunities I would have working there, but also the location. I have lived in Mount Kisco for more than five years now and couldn’t be happier. My wife and I, along with our three children, enjoy our quaint town, which offers us a walkable community with rural beauty. We have access to top restaurants, shops, the best schools and recreational activities, along with state-of-the-art healthcare and hospitals; we have everything we need moments from home. Coming to Regeneron was the best professional decision I’ve made, which also turned out to be an amazing decision for me and my family.
Ihad relocated to Philadelphia over a decade ago. I was single and loved the city life, and it seemed so easy. Fast-forward to last year, when the opportunity to join Regeneron came up; for some reason, the decision seemed more difficult. With my offer in hand, I immediately started researching school districts. With two kids in elementary school, my number-one priority was my children’s education. I was thrilled to learn that Westchester’s schools were superb; I knew my children would not only get the best schooling, but they would have access to cultural activities to ensure a well-rounded education. Whether it’s music class, sewing class, soccer or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, my children have unique, big- city opportunities in a wonderful community with a backyard. The Humphries household is very happy!

Irecently set out to find my perfect fit: A job that could challenge me and a new area of the country to explore. When the opportunity at Regeneron arose, I was thrilled with the prospect of joining one of the fastest-growing companies in the country, but I was concerned about quality of life. I was familiar with New York City but not Westchester. I found a great place to live in Sleepy Hollow, where I’m able to do everything I love. I have access to great restaurants, live music in the summer, beautiful parks, the best hotels for my family to stay when they visit, and, best of all, I can walk everywhere! When I want to go into the city, I just jump on the train, day or night. There are also so many options nearby, and I’m discovering new places to shop or dine all over Westchester County when I’m out and about. Moving alone could have been scary, but working for an amazing company like Regeneron and living so close to all the things that are important to me
have made me feel really welcome and grateful to be here.
