IT EDGE: A Valued Partner for Local Companies, Nonprofits
Being quick to adapt to changes is crucial for survival in any industry, but perhaps none more so than information technology. IT Edge, a technology consulting company based in West Chester, has remained successful and relevant since the 1980s by adding new services and moving into new sectors.
IT Edge started in 1989 with hardware support services, including a help desk that is still going strong. “It’s great to have a friendly local help desk where techs can actually drive out to your office when you need assistance,” said Braedon Swindler, who leads IT Edge’s marketing division.
Later on, IT Edge expanded into assisting companies with custom applications
for Salesforce, a popular software for streamlining complex processes within businesses and organizations. Its third major focus area, and the most recent one,
is digital marketing. That includes social media, web design, SEO support, and targeted advertising.
“You have to be very adaptive in the technology space,” Swindler noted. At the same time, he attributed IT Edge’s ongoing success to “a great team that cares about the community.”
IT Edge supports accountants, attorneys, title agencies, and others, but nonprofits are another area of focus, including
Chester County stalwarts like Community Volunteers in Medicine and the Andrew Hicks Foundation. “We give discounts to our nonprofit partners, and we’re very honored to act as their tech arm,” Swindler said. “We take those partnerships very seriously.”
As IT Edge moves forward, the goal is to keep becoming “more visible and more known,” he said, while continuing to grow the digital marketing division with new services. But the company plans to remain firmly rooted in Chester County.
The county “has a really great mix of people who have lived here for a long time and care about the area, but still have that entrepreneurial spirit and are looking to grow,” Swindler said. IT Edge helps highlight those local businesses and entrepreneurs with a regular interview series called Talk’n Tech that’s shared to IT Edge’s social media accounts.
