“It’s rewarding to see the good you can do in the community,” she says.
A.B.A.T.E. is far from the only outlet for LeBlanc’s volunteerism. She works with the Dover Downtown Rotary Club feeding homeless men, wrapping Christmas presents for children, and other activities.
She’s involved with the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, helping with its annual wacky fundraiser, now called Bras for Support. Male volunteers model bras, which are then auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and the Beebe Medical Foundation. The event raised $36,285 this year.
An animal lover who once raised Chow Chows, LeBlanc also serves on the board of the Camden-based First State Animal Center and SPCA.
For LeBlanc, volunteering is a welcome respite from the time-consuming world of real estate.
“It’s nice to find other venues to spend my time and give back to my
community,” she says.
As a child growing up in Lewes, Skip Faust built
some of his most cherished memories on the Little League field, many of them with his father as coach. As a parent, he’s carried on that tradition by coaching his own boys, and eventually joined its board.
