BRIARCLIFF MANOR
Partially bordering the Hudson, this rus- tic, northern burb boasts 200 acres of park- land. The town- and county-run properties here include an amazing pool and tennis complex and lots of beautiful open space. Briarcliff Manor’s town center, with its tree- lined streets, brick sidewalks and charm- ing shops and restaurants is quintessential Main Street, USA.
CROTON-ON-HUDSON
Referred to as “Greenwich Village on the Hudson,” quaint Croton is highlighted by Croton Point Park, a 500-acre peninsula extending into Hudson. Features include a campground, boat launch, cabin rentals and beach access. The park is also home to the annual Clearwater Festival, featuring a variety of musicians raising funds to help preserve the Hudson.
DOBBS FERRY
Dobbs Ferry has so much to offer. The re- cently updated Waterfront Park here offers 10 acres of recreational space with playing fields, beaches, a fishing pier and dock- age for boats. The town’s excellent schools were among the first to adopt the enriched curriculum of the International Bacculau- reate Program. Life is further enhanced by Rivertowns Square, a mixed-use mega- development, along with Chef David DiBari hotspots The Parlor and The Cookery.

with foodie spots and unique shops. The town offers dramatic views of the Palisades to the west and Manhattan to the south, with new waterfront parks and eateries. Many filmmakers have been drawn to the town’s timeless small-town America vibe. The movie Girl on a Train and top-rated cable series like The Leftovers, Billions and Divorce have all filmed here.
IRVINGTON
Part of the region labeled “hipsturbia” by the New York Times, Irvington has a stylish, monied atmosphere, expressed in chic up- grades of old industrial buildings and new luxury construction, making the most of the town’s waterfront locale. The gorgeous river park is just steps from the commer- cial district, with proximity to some of the county’s best hiking.

OSSINING
Generating interest here is Harbor Square, a $65 million development that not only provides new luxury apartment space
but an amazing new public waterfront park. More than stunning river views, this amaz- ing village boasts rich cultural diversity and has contributed more brilliant young minds to the annual Regeneron Science Talent Search than anywhere else in the county. Ossining is also the site of the famous Sing Sing Correctional Facility and the fictional home of Mad Men’s Don Draper.
SLEEPY HOLLOW
Immortalized by Irving’s “The Headless Horseman,” Sleepy Hollow cheerfully lives up to its name throughout the year. The quaint town offers historic charm, an artsy riverfront and plenty of outdoor recreation- al space. The region comes alive during Hal- loween, however, as many gather to enjoy the seasonal spectacle. Sleepy Hollow is also undergoing a major waterfront renovation: Edge-on-Hudson, a 97-acre project, is un- derway on the grounds of the old GM plant and will feature residences, shops, a hotel and gorgeous river walk.
