The only IAAI employee based at
the Port, Andrews works closely with
12 WWIB employees who process the
trucks. The demand is strong — Isuzu has
been the No. 1-selling low cab forward
truck every year since 1986.
This year, IAAI expects to process and
ship 3,600 units at the Port of Baltimore.
Most of the trucks arrive at the Port on
MOL (America) Inc. vessels.
“Most of our dealers are in the
Northeast and Midwest,” Andrews
said. “We service a few states south of
Maryland also. However, we will ship to
any location a customer requests.”
Andrews added that the Port’s
proximity to dealers is a big advantage.
“It is strategically located along the I-95
corridor, which allows great access for
truck-away business such as ours,” she
said. “Timely deliveries are critical. The
Port of Baltimore supports our vessels
with efficiency and professionalism in
the stevedoring companies used.”
The Port’s experience with roll-on/
roll-off (ro/ro) cargo is also a plus.
“The Port of Baltimore has great
communication with its customers,”
Andrews said. “We are usually made
aware of any concerns, issues or
changes that are being implemented, or
that would affect the unloading of our
vessels.”
Larry Johnson, who is in charge
of automotive sales for the Maryland
Port Administration (MPA), noted, “It is
companies such as Isuzu — long-term
tenants — that form the foundation for
future auto and ro/ro business at the Port
of Baltimore.”
Headquartered in Tokyo, ITOCHU

400 companies. With 153 offices in 74
countries, ITOCHU Corporation boasts
an extensive business network.
“True to its mission, ‘Committed to
the global good,’ ITOCHU’s goods and
services affect people’s lives in the four
corners of the globe,” Andrews said.
